Master Motorsport team finishes in sixth place despite being forced into the pits three times

Surrey race ace Aaron Scott ( and his Master Motorsport team mate Steven Brady, were at Oulton Park for Round 7 of the British GT Championship on Sunday 13th July.

After a very productive free practice session the team worked hard on set-up improvements to the Omnico backed Ultima. Aaron qualified the car and set a sensational time to place the car a best ever 3rd on the grid.

Further improvements saw the team quickest in the race morning warm-up, leaving the drivers confident of securing a podium place in the race.

Steve started the race and initially moved into 2nd place. However he then began to experience a lack of rear end grip and the team opted for an early stop to check tyre pressures. Aaron took over and rejoined in 3rd place, however Aaron was forced into the pits with a loose wheel. The team changed the wheel and Aaron rejoined before the nut worked loose again forcing the car into the pits and retirement from a certain 3rd place. The team can take heart from being classified 6th in a race of attrition, having completed the required distance to score points.

Aaron said, "We are absolutely gutted, I think everyone witnessed that we had the pace to be on the podium this weekend and if the car had been right I think we would have finished 2nd. However it just wasn't meant to be today. We will bounce back at Rockingham for Round 8, that is certain. I think the team have done a fantastic job this weekend, and when we finally get to taste the champagne, it will be well deserved!"

The next race takes place at Rockingham on August 3rd.
