Huntingdon Valley, PA, May 11, 2001: Villaconn Motorsports has entered three BMW Z3 Coupes in the Grand Am Cup endurance race to be held at the historic Watkins Glen circuit on May 18th-20th. Watkins Glen, once playing host to the Formula One World Championship, has seen its share of sportscar racing action over the last 53 years. The Three Hour Grand Am Cup race will serve as a support event for the classic Six Hours at The Glen Rolex Sportscar Series headliner.

"The Glen is such a historically significant track and such a wonderful facility that it often becomes the highlight of most drivers' season," explains Villaconn driver, Matt Connolly. "With the schedule Grand Am has put together (The Glen, Mid-Ohio and Road America) we can look forward to a triple header of some of the best circuits in the United States."

The driver line up for Villaconn at The Glen has a familiar. Dr. Gregory White, Ray Shaffer, Bransen Patch, Jeff Trask, Al Villamil and Matt Connolly are all scheduled to compete.

With the success of recent test sessions, the team believes that their BMWs have come a long way since the season opener at Daytona - the development program having yielded the results they've been after. "As a team, we are technically coming together," adds White, who has been heavily involved in the test sessions. "We are poised to move to the front of the field and I think the next two races will show how hard we've been working."
