Team Sahlen Makes 2nd Trip of Season to Watkins Glen

Watkins Glen, NY - Team Sahlen will venture to Watkins Glen International for the COMPUSA 200 at the Glen race. This is the second of three races that the Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series will appear at Watkins Glen International. Team Sahlen drivers Joe, Wayne, and Will Nonnamaker will be joined on the 2.45 mile road course by NASCAR drivers in town for the Sirius at the Glen Race.

"This is a great event for us, to be the opening act of a NASCAR event. What an opportunity for all the fans who come from all over to watch a different breed of racing and of course for them to try some Sahlen's hot dogs," states Will Nonnamaker. Sahlen's is the official hot dog, sausage, and deli meat of Watkins Glen International as well as Team Sahlen.

The Nonnamakers and their Rolex effort returned home from their most recent race at Barber Motorsports Park with Watkins Glen preparation on the forefront of their mind. The team's familiarity with the track as well as the support from Team Sahlen fans makes any event at Watkins Glen International an exciting undertaking for the Grant Touring (GT) class team.

Team Sahlen is also very excited about the recent success they have had with developments on both their No. 41 and No. 43 cars. Both cars have seen improved qualifying times through the final stretch of the season. The team attributes this success to the constant efforts they have made this season to give added power and fuel mileage to their Porsche GT3 Cup cars.

"Fortunately, we have had no major problems with the cars that have delayed our moves towards developing the most competitive car in the GT class. In addition, the change we have made resulted in positive feedback on the track and from the drivers," says Crew Chief, Mike Thomas.

The COMPUSA 200 at the Glen begins Friday, August, 12th at 6:00 pm. SPEED will air coverage of the race at 10:00 pm (EST).

Team Sahlen heads to the COMPUSA 200 at the Glen race with support from HRPWorld.com, TheRaceSite.com, Rembrandt Charms, TheRaceMarket.com, Kempthorn Auto Mall, UNICHIP, Lamin-X, Racetech, and Grassroots Motorsports.
