WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. (August 7, 2002) -- The Scuderia Ferrari of Washington team will be looking for its third-straight GT victory during the Bully Hill Vineyards 250 at Watkins Glen International this Friday, August 9, the seventh round of the 10-race Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series. The threepeat is an accomplishment achieved only one other time in the GT class when G&W Motorsports won three-in-a-row in 2000 and then went on to capture the team and driver championships.

Ferrari of Washington debuted the factory's latest Ferrari 360GT during the 6 Hours of The Glen in June where drivers Bill Auberlen and Cort Wagner piloted it to the manufacturer's first GT class win in the Rolex Series. Two weeks later, the duo battled back from being a lap down to take its second-straight win under the lights at Daytona International Speedway in the Jani-King Paul Revere 250.

The back-to-back wins advanced Auberlen and Wagner to second place in the driver point standing, only seven points behind The Racer's Group's Kevin Buckler, who has held the top spot in the GT standings since his Rolex 24 At Daytona victory at the start of the season.

With four races remaining in the season, the Ferrari team is in a heated battle with The Racer's Group #66 Porsche and Perspective Racing #24 Mosler for the GT championship. The Porsche leads the team standings with 184 points followed by the Mosler at 181 and the Ferrari at 179.

The Rolex Series will run The Glen's 'short' course during the Bully Hill Vineyards 250 as the series shares the weekend with the NASCAR Winston Cup Sirius Satellite at The Glen and NASCAR Busch North Little Trees 250.

Tickets are currently on sale for the event and may be purchased online at www.theglen.com or by calling The Glen's ticket office at 607-535-2481. Additional information on the Rolex Sports Car Series is available online at www.grand-am.com.
