Grease Monkey Racing Quickest in SGS During Final Practice Session.

Los Angeles, Ca., August 12, 2004---Grease Monkey Racing had a successful day of practice for Friday night's Sahlen 200 at the historic Watkins Glen International Raceway by ending up quickest in the SGS class during final practice by 6-tenths. During the morning's first session, the rookie team ended up second in class. And, backed that result up with leading the competitive SGS class in the wet final practice session. Qualifying was rained out, and season points determined the starting order. Since, Grease Monkey Racing missed a few races, and aren't in the running for the championship, they will therefore start 8th in SGS.

"I hope it rains tomorrow for the race, because we have proven that Sigal and I are as quick as the championship contenders in the rain. As the old racing cliche goes, rain is the great equalizer. And, if it rains tomorrow we have a good chance to podium," said an enthusiastic Harrison Brix after the final practice session.

Harrison Brix will make his second Grand-Am start teamed with Gene Sigal. This is the second visit to Watkins Glen this season for Grand-Am, and the first track on the schedule that Grease Monkey Racing has previous experience at. With a sixth place finish at the 6-hours at the Glen in June, and with the speed shown in today's practice sessions, Grease Monkey Racing is excited at the prospects of ending up on the podium on Friday. Make sure to tune into SpeedTV on Friday night for coverage of the race. Grease Monkey Racing is backed by; Sirius Satellite Radio, Nextel, Deutsche Post, RPM Aceleracion, Car Graphic, Sparco, Motul, JM Racing, AvantiKart.com and RacerStation.com.
