WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., Aug. 10 - Harrison Brix of San Jose, Calif. qualified tenth Thursday afternoon at Watkins Glen International in the Feeds the Need/Doran Racing DORAN JE4 Ford No. 77 for tomorrow night's Crown Royal 200 Daytona Prototype Rolex Series race on the Glen's short course.

The No. 77, which carries the colors of the Kodak EasyShare System, Amp'd Mobile and SIRIUS, posted a qualifying time of 1:08.591 (128.588 mph).

Brix's co-driver is Terry Borcheller of Vero Beach, Fla.

The pole went to the GAINSCO/Blackhawk Racing No. 99 of Alex Gurney with a 1:07.496 (130.674 mph) for the 2.45-mile, 11-turn road course. The field was split in half for two 15-minute sessions for qualifying here.

Twenty-six Daytona Prototypes are entered in the 200-mile/82-lap/two-hour race, which will start at 6:30 p.m. Eastern time tomorrow night and will be broadcast two-and-a-half hours later at 9 p.m. Eastern on SPEED.

"The car is working very well," Brix said after qualifying. "The weather is sunny and it's about 85. We're working on a couple of ideas to improve the car even more in the evening practice session. We think our car will be even better as it gets cooler, which will hopefully help us tomorrow night."

The team was 15th in the first practice session today with a 1:09.683 (126.573); tenth in the second practice session with a 1:08.537 (128.690 mph) and ninth in the third session with a 1:08.444 (128.864 mph).
