QUALIFYING AT THE GLEN RECAP: After contact with the Turn 11 wall and significant damage on the left side of the no.01 TELMEX car during the second practice session, the team was under pressure to get the car ready for Qualifying. Missing the third practice session, the team finally got the car on the track with 10 minutes remaining in the 15-minute qualifying session.

At one point, Pruett even lended a helping hand with turning a wrench on the car to get it ready. Unfortunately, Rojas was unable to get the car to its full potential after Grand-Am shortened the session by three minutes with a black/checkered flag. Rob Finlay qualified the no.19 Z-Line car and earned a tenth place starting position.
