Altamonte Springs, FL – If you walk through the Daytona International Speedway paddock this coming Friday; you will be destined to see Nashville native and RSR Motorsports Team Manager and Driver, Owen Trinkler. Trinkler has been a fixture in the RSR camp since the team’s arrival into the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series and like he did in 2012, will be the Team Manager and Driver for the Florida based team during the 2013 season.
Last season saw a tale of two halves for Trinkler and company starting with Top-5s in the first half of the year culminated with a third win in a row at New Jersey Motorsports Park in his #197 Honda Civic Si. As the second half of the year pressed on, the team experienced unfortunate events causing them to finish down the running order in the championship. With Trinkler always being the professional, he chooses to look forward instead of backwards and remains optimistic that he and his team will have the pieces and the luck to race for a 2013 championship. The quest begins Friday at the Roar Before the 24 Test Days.
“This coming year is going to be very exciting for myself and everyone at RSR Motorsports” Trinkler stated. “We were able to develop our Honda Civic Si throughout 2012 and with one full season under our belt with it, I’m expecting big things in 2013. We have worked out the teething issues the car had throughout last season, making us much better prepared for it this year. I’m excited for this week’s test days and to get back on track for another year!”
Trinkler and RSR Motorsports will be on track together January 4th through the 6th for the 2013 Grand-Am Road Racing Roar Before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway. Stay tuned for updates!
