Synergy Racing signs Frisselle brothers to pilot Rx.com Daytona Prototype in 2006
Young racing duo ready to take new Porsche-powered entry to the front
ORLANDO, Fla. (December 1, 2005) -- Synergy Racing announced today at the Performance Racing Industry (PRI) Show it has inked a deal with brothers Burt and Brian Frisselle, of Aventura, Fla., to pilot the team's Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype in the 2006 Rolex Sports Car Series. It will mark the second Rolex Sports Car Series season with Synergy Racing for the young brothers, ages 23 and 21. They piloted the team's Rx.com No. 8 BMW Doran JE4 entry throughout 2005.
"We have been very impressed with Burt and Brian's performances this year," said Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing co-owner. "We are enthusiastic to sign them to drive our Rx.com Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype next season. They have been a frontrunner at nearly every race this season, and we think they are the perfect drivers to carry our new Porsche-powered entry to the front next season. With Burt and Brian's talent and with the assistance from Porsche Motorsport North America, Synergy Racing and Rx.com look to not only be a consistent frontrunner, but also a regular presence on the podium in 2006."
The 2005 season marked Burt's second in the Rolex Series, while younger brother Brian entered as a rookie. Despite being relatively new to the series, the Frisselle brothers made their presence known early in the season, putting the Rx.com Daytona Prototype into the lead in round two. Since that race in Homestead, both brothers have taken turns at the front of the field in races at California Speedway and Watkins Glen International.
"Everyone at Synergy Racing and Rx.com has been great to work with this season," Burt said. "We're excited to return next season and race the new Rx.com Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype. With Gary Grossenbacher and Price Cobb's knowledge and experience with Porsches, I'm confident they'll give us a car we can take to the front again next season."
"My rookie season has been great with Synergy Racing and Rx.com," Brian said. "In addition to having a team of experts to work with and learn from, the team has consistently provided us with a fast car. And now with the assistance from Porsche Motorsport North America, I can't wait to drive the new Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype next season."
Synergy Racing's new Rx.com No. 8 Porsche-powered Daytona Prototype will make its first public appearance at Homestead-Miami Speedway next week, December 5-6, where Burt and Brian will participate in an official Rolex Series test session. The brothers will be at Daytona International Speedway, January 4-7, 2006, for traditional pre-season testing, and will give the Rx.com Porsche-powered entry its racing debut at the Rolex 24 At Daytona, January 28-29, 2006.
