Synergy Racing Debuts New GT Livery With Three-Car Effort at Daytona
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 29, 2005) -- Synergy Racing will unveil its new GT livery at Daytona International Speedway this Thursday with an impressive three-car lineup for the Brumos Porsche 250.
The new Synergy Racing livery carries the team's traditional colors -- red, yellow and black -- with its trademark lightning bolt on the sides, hood and roof. The new livery is one of the final pieces in the transformation to Synergy Racing from the team's former moniker, G&W Motorsports.
In addition to the points-leading No. 80 Porsche and No. 81 Porsche that the team campaigns all season sporting new paint schemes, Synergy Racing will also run a third No. 87 Porsche with team owners Steve and Danny Marshall returning behind the wheel.
"Unveiling the new Synergy Racing paint scheme on the Porsche GT cars this weekend is a fitting tribute to all of the championship cars and people that got us here," said Cole Scrogham, Synergy Racing team owner. "I am really proud to see the history of our yellow, red and black come forward in the new design and I hope that everyone will appreciate it as I do.
"Completing a makeover that was as involved as the change from G&W Motorsports to Synergy Racing can never be complete; we will always have some throwbacks to our past. As long as people remember the past as races and championships won, then completing the transition will get easier and easier," he continued.
As G&W Motorsports, the team achieved four championships, 15 class wins and more than 50 podium finishes, including the 2003 SRPII championship of Steve Marshall, who will be back in the driver's seat on Thursday.
Synergy Racing will debut its trio of GT Porsches in the new livery at Daytona International Speedway on Thursday during the 9 a.m. practice session. Qualifying for the Brumos Porsche 250 will be at 1 p.m., and the green flag will fall at 7:15 p.m.

About Synergy Racing
Team owners Cole Scrogham and Danny and Steve Marshall introduced Synergy Racing in December 2004. Based at Virginia International Raceway, Synergy Racing is an evolution of G&W Motorsports, which had catered to Porsche racing since 1996 and became the most successful team in the Rolex Sports Car Series with four championships, 15 class wins and more than 50 podium finishes. The team underwent a major transformation that included a name and logo change, as well as a complete restructuring into a customer-based championship racing business, which concentrates on the needs of the customer rather than the desires of the team.
