Altamonte Springs, FL/April 6, 2011 - The Starworks Motorsport squad will embark onto Barber Motorsports Park for this weekends’ Porsche 250, the third round of the 2011 GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series. The race will air at Noon on SPEED on Saturday, April 9th. Starworks will again campaign the #2 Duncan/ONA/IND/Taxand/Venezuela Ford powered Riley Daytona Prototype (DP) of Enzo Potolicchio and Alex Popow and the #8 Miracle Grout Shield/Jetset Magazine/Dynacor Media Group Ford/Riley DP of Mike Forest and Ryan Dalziel.

On the season both Starworks entries are in the Top-10 in the 2011 Team Championship standings with the #2 sitting eighth coming off their seventh place finish at Homestead-Miami Speedway and the drivers are leading in the Truman Award Standings. Both cars are very much looking forward to this weekend as the #2 surprised the rest of their competition at the last round of the series, as neither driver has much history in the series. “With the testing ban in GRAND-AM that doesn’t allow us to test at a track we’re about to go to , it makes it very difficult for Alex and I to go out there and compete on as high a level as we’d like to while having to learn the nuances of the unfamiliar circuit” states Potolicchio. As well, neither have been to Barber Motorsports Park before, so the #2 squad will be looking to get acclimated to their new surroundings very quickly to make a push for a strong result.

Ryan and I had our first podium at Barber last year...

Mike Forest

For the #8 driving tandem, they go into Barber this weekend with unfinished business on their mind.

“Ryan and I had our first podium at Barber last year, I’d like to not only continue that momentum, but improve on it,” said Mike Forest. “It is an amazing track, probably the most demanding circuit we go to. So far we’ve proven our speed, but have come away unlucky. The only way to put the bitterness of Homestead behind us is to go out and have a solid race this weekend.”
