PROMISING FIRST ROLEX SERIES DP SEASON FOR SIGALSPORT BMW!

Los Angeles, CA, Septemberr9 - Auberlen, Alhadeff and Hand co-driving the 05 Luggage Express Team Sigalsport Dinan BMW finished 16th in the final round of the 2007 Rolex Sports Car Series in Utah. The team had a fantastic car and ran in the top five for over three hours of the 7 0x00bd hour endurance event and Bill Auberlen also took command of the race on lap 29. An unexpected electrical connector problem after three hours ruined all chances of finishing on the podium.

The Luggage Express Team Sigalsport BMW finished a very long 14-race season full of promises, success and joy. The team was participating in its first ever full Rolex Series Daytona Prototype season and finished 14th overall in the 2007 Rolex Series team point standings, only a handful of points from 10th place. Sigalsport BMW with driver Bill Auberlen and Matt Alhadeff led a total 15 laps at 4 races (Rolex 24, Homestead, Daytona and Utah) during the season.

With their five drivers, Auberlen, Alhadeff, Sigal, Hand and Wendlinger, the Luggage Express team Sigalsport BMW ran 57% of all 62 2007 Rolex Series season practice sessions (practice and qualifying) in the top ten including 22% in the top five, proving that the team will be a serious contender next season.

The greatest moment of the season was definitely the Sigalsport BMW team's first ever Daytona Prototype win at the Grand Prix of Miami last March. The team, which had been assembled only three months earlier, was racing in its third race of the season when Alhadeff and Auberlen were able to cross the finish line first, in front of a large group of VIPs invited for the day by local southern Florida public company and the team's title sponsor, Luggage Express! The victory was also very sweet since Sigalsport was able to win with a BMW V8 engine, the only one in the field. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Sigalsport BMW crew and the Dinan BMW technicians that built this powerful V8 engine, BMW was able to have a win in the very competitive Rolex Series DP class.

Matt Alhadeff finished third in the 2007 Jim Trueman Award, an encouraging result in the young gun's career who was racing in his first ever full DP season.

The team is now preparing the new season that will begin with official Pirelli tire testing at Daytona International Speedway, November 14 and 15.

Sigalsport BMW wants to thank all its sponsors and friends of the team for their support including the Alhadeff Family, Dinan BMW, Luggage Express, BZCOM, Fortune Market, GRW.com.mx, Piloti shoes, Motul, Hella, Mechanix, enVista, DSSV, Bosch, Hoosier and Performance Drinks.

The next big rendez-vous for the Sigalsport BMW team is at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, October 30, where the new 2008 Sigalsport program, new colors and sponsors, drivers and engine package will be unveiled to the press.
