MEMO GIDLEY AND GUY COSMO FALL JUST SHORT OF TOP-10 FINISH AT INFINEON RACEWAY

SONOMA, CA (August 27, 2006) Sonoma, California known for fine wine, beautiful scenery and of course Infineon Raceway played host to the Grand American Series finest drivers this weekend. Race number 13 of the scheduled 14-race Grand American Rolex Series Presented by Crown Royal Special Reserve took place yesterday and Memo Gidley and Guy Cosmo were able to overcome a few race mishaps to finish just outside the top-10. Guy Cosmo, filling in for the team's regular shoe Michael McDowell, qualified the No.19 Playboy/Uniden/Palms Ford-powered Crawford Daytona Prototype on row number seven for Saturday's running on the Infineon 250. When the green flag dropped, Cosmo quickly moved into the top-10. Running a great race the personable Cosmo brought the popular orange and black machine into the pit lane for a scheduled stop around lap 22. The Finlay Motorsports team quickly serviced car and was able to improve several spots due to the fast acting pit crew. When the green flag dropped Cosmo found himself in the sixth position and continued to run competitive lap times until an incident with the 76 car forced the No.19 machine to fall back to the 13th position. The 76 car was later penalized for the incident and had to serve a stop and go penalty.

Memo Gidley, a resident of California took over the driving duties on lap 73 and rejoined the battle. Gidley did a great job with what he was given to work with but had to settle for an eleventh place finish. The Mooresville, NC based team will spend today turning around the Playboy/Uniden/Palms sponsored machine before leaving for the season ending showdown.

Race number 14 of the 2006 Rolex Series schedule will be another test of both man and machine. The Salt Lake City, Utah event will take place at the Miller Motorsports Park on Saturday, September 2 and is scheduled for a nine hour race beginning at 12:00 p.m.
