VENUE: Infineon Raceway this Saturday, August 26th (3:00pm PT), on the 2.52-mile permanent road course in Sonoma, Calif. -- the penultimate round of the 14-race Grand American Rolex Sports Car Series season.
INFINEON RACEWAY HISTORY: Inaugural event for the Rolex Sports Car Series in Sonoma. The no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley has won 5 of 6 races contested in California (2004-present) in Grand American competition. To date, the no.01 CompUSA Lexus-Riley has won 11 times in 38 career Grand American starts, a winning percentage of 0.29.
"Infineon Raceway is going to be a busy place for me and the whole CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates team this weekend. Sonoma is my home track, so we'll have lots of guests, family and friends supporting the team this Saturday. I've been racing karts here since I was at least 14-15 years old; then onto GTO, IMSA and Trans-Am, and most recently the NASCAR Busch and Cup Series. I think the no.01 team still has an outside chance at the championship with two races remaining. We'll just have to go out and win like we did in Watkins Glen two weeks ago, and hopefully the remaining pieces of the puzzle fall into place for us."
"I was able to come out a few weeks ago and try out the Sonoma track through the Jim Russell Racing School. It's a very nice facility, and this weekend is very important in terms of the championship fight. All we can do is win. If the team, Scott and I do our jobs the best we can, we can all make this happen. I'm really looking forward to racing here for the first time, and bringing home the trophy for the team in the inaugural Rolex Series event."
