Chris Wehrheim will be making his second start of the year in the Grand-Am Cup series this coming weekend at the Chemung Canal Trust 200 at Watkins Glen Raceway in Watkins Glen, NY. After a strong ninth place debut at Laguna Seca in the ST class, Chris will be returning with Compass360 Racing in the BMW Z3 Coupe.

"I am really looking forward to the race this weekend," commented Wehrheim. "The team has been doing extensive testing in the past few weeks and has made great progress with the cars. I believe we can challenge for a top 5 finish this weekend."

Just two weeks ago, Chris competed in the second round of the Skip Barber Midwestern Championship at Watkins Glen to get prepared for this weekend's event. After having car troubles on Saturday, Chris finished a strong 3rd while chasing down the leaders after being pushed off the track coming onto the backstretch, mid-race.

Chris is also welcoming The Racer's Shop Inc. as a new sponsor for the remainder of the 2005 season. The Racer's Shop is the L.A.'s hottest race shop. They are a division of Tillack & Co., Ltd, which specializes in Ferrari and Vintage racing car restoration and race preparation. You can visit them on the web at www.theracersshop.com.

Check your local listings on SPEED for the airing on the Chemung Canal Trust 200 at Watkins Glen Raceway.
