Team i-MOTO Gives the ACURA TSX First Podium in Grand Am Cup History!
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (September 18, 2006) -- The i-MOTO team came to Miller Motorsports Park determined to show the world that it's the real deal! The i-MOTO car #188 piloted by Glenn Bocchino and Roger Foo, finished on the podium in a strong 3rd place.
Qualifying on the second row, driver Glenn Bocchino powered the Acura TSX to second place behind Will Turner. This later turned into a three way battle with Dave Haskell, Will Turner and Glenn Bocchino. As the trio pulled away from the field Haskell passed Bocchino for the second position, while Turner remained out front. The trio maintained these positions for 22 laps. With no full coarse cautions, the team was forced to pit under green. Roger Foo then took the wheel and began to work his magic. Losing 3 positions on the pit stop, Foo had a 40 second defect to make up to catch Sylvain Tremblay and Don Salama. Roger muscled his way back to the front. On the attack to catch the two leaders, Roger's lap times were consistently 1 to 2 seconds faster then the duo for the remainder of the race. Unfortunately, Foo ran out of time, finishing in 3rd, 37 seconds ahead of the 4th place car.
We need to give a special thanks to Cobalt Friction Racing Brake Pads for providing its new XR Series Racing Brake Compounds, which will be released to the public in the fall of 2006.The popular Honda star Roger Foo was quoted as saying, "those are the best brake pads I have every raced on"!
The I-MOTO Racing team will continue the momentum on its assault in the Six Hour Season Finale at Virginia International Raceway in Alton, Virginia on October 8th 2006.
