Koni Challenge --6th place at Trois-Rivieres

The tenth round of the Koni Challenge season was held this past weekend an hour north of Montreal in the streets of Trois Rivieres. It was a 2 hour, GS only, race on the 1.6 mile street course. Gue was paired with regular co-driver Bret Seafuse in the #37 JBS Motorsport FR500C Ford Mustang.

Seafuse had his season best qualifying effort of 4th place out of a 28 car GS field. Because the race was only 2 hours instead of the normal 2 1/2 hour format the race strategy changed slightly. The driver change happened much sooner into the race; at the 25 minute mark Seafuse pitted under yellow, to put Gue in the car for the remaining 1 hour and 30 minutes. Seafuse pitted from the 4th place; Gue returned to the track in 18th place. By the end of the race, once everyone had cycled through the pits, Gue emerged to finish in the 6th position.

Gue commented: "I'm happy with the results, considering the limited track time we had, and the fact that it was Bret's first time in 3 Rivers 6th was a good result for us. Brakes were an issue for us so we had to conserve a little throughout the race, so I couldn't push as hard as I wanted. All the JBS crew did a great job in the pits and kept us on the lead lap. We still have a good shot at 2nd and an outside chance at the Championship, so we will be pushing 100% at these last two races."
