NASCAR CANADIAN TIRE SERIES AND GRAND-AM KONI CHALLENGE HEADLINE MOSPORT'S FATHER'S DAY DOUBLEHEADER WEEKEND

(BOWMANVILLE, ON -- May 28, 2007) Dads will be in for a real racing treat when the new NASCAR Canadian Tire Series makes its much anticipated Mosport debut, along with the Grand-Am KONI Challenge, as part of the Father's Day Doubleheader Weekend, June 15, 16 & 17.

Filling out one half of the doubleheader weekend are the powerful stock cars of the new NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, which will take to Mosport's demanding 4 km, 10 turn road course on Sunday (June 16) in the Mosport 200, presented by Canadian Shield Anticrime Response Corporation.

Many of the drivers competing in the new Series are Canadian stock car veterans who know Mosport's road course well. They include the likes of D.J. Kennington (St. Thomas, ON), Don Thomson, Jr. (Ayr, ON), last year's pole-sitter J.R. Fitzpatrick (Ayr, ON) and race winner, Kerry Micks (Mt. Albert, ON). Former Champ Car racer, Andrew Ranger of Roxton Pond, QC, is scheduled to make his first road course start in Canada's NASCAR series this Father's Day weekend.

Rounding out the other half of the twinbill are the high-performance sports sedans of the U.S.-based Grand-Am KONI Challenge. With 400 km championship races in both the ST class, which features agile and quick Acuras, BMWs and Mazdas, and the powerful Mustangs and Porsches of the GS class, Dad will be entertained with first-rate racing action all weekend long. The GS race is set for Saturday, while the ST race is on the Sunday schedule.

The KONI series returns to Mosport after a one-year absence and features many of Canada's best road racers in both classes, including Toronto natives David Empringham and Scott Maxwell, who both compete in the GS division.

The three-day weekend schedule also includes races in the Cup Lites Series (making their second 2007 appearance on the road course) and the first of five Mosport appearances for the Toronto TireCraft 100 Ontario Formula Ford Challenge (1600) open wheel series.

A three-day SuperTicket is just $45 until June 13 ($55 at the Gate) and each ticket includes parking, paddock admission, and entrance to Saturday Night Stock Car racing at Mosport Speedway. Children 12 and under are free when accompanied by a paid adult admission. Single day tickets are also available.

General and family camping areas are available, with full-service washrooms, showers and children's playgrounds. An advanced three-day weekend general camping pass is just $30 (For tents or pop-up trailers). RVs are $50 for the weekend.

For those looking to give Dad a real Mosport VIP experience, tickets to the Grand Prix Club - new for Father's Day weekend - are also available for $85. The Grand Prix Club includes a three-day admission and Sunday VIP Hospitality which features a fully catered lunch and beverages, and is located trackside overlooking the start/finish straight and corner one.
