TEAM SET TO MAKE AN IMPRESSION AT ITS SECOND EVENT
COLUMBIA, SC (June 11, 2008) --Meyer Motorsports is ready for their second event in the KONI Challenge and first event north of the border. The ultra competitive series returns to Mosport this weekend, a favorite for many drivers. Meyer Motorsports will be competing again with the flat black Mazda RX-8's; #16 RamTECH entry driven by Sam Stuard and Andy Brumbaugh and the #30 K1racegear.com entry driven by Peyton Wilson and Eric Meyer.
The crew has been working extra hard since our debut race at Lime Rock. "We believe we've unveiled our electronic gremlins. For Lime Rock, the cars handled super great but the power fell off early in the race. Our cornering speeds were killer but the straightaway's were killing us. We're pretty sure it's heat related and it's fixed. For good" offered Eric Meyer, Team owner and driver of the #30 RX8. Watch for the two black RX8's near the front of the pack.
Sam Stuard, driver of the RamTECH Mazda said, "Back in the saddle just north of the border for round 3 of the KONI Challenge series. Lime rock was our debut with Meyer-Motorsports; now that most of the bugs are worked out of the car I am sure the Meyer-Motorsports car #16 and #30 will be very competitive. Mosport is a second home to me and we are looking to exploit the advantages of the Rx8. Thanks again to the RamTECH team for support."
The Meyer Motorsports team knows that any race in this series is tough and being relative newcomers doesn't make things easier. However, with the blood, sweat, and tears put into the effort so far this year, the black RX-8's are getting closer and closer to victory lane.
Cars get on track for testing on Thursday with the green flag flying on Saturday. Meyer Motorsports is confident in their preparation, cars, and drivers and looks to have a solid race at this fast track.
