Team Hyundai Motorsports scored a great result this afternoon by finishing 4th and 5th in the Grand-Am - Sunoco Ultra 94 presents the Mosport Three-Hour race. Driving the Hyundai Tiburon #14, Wade Gaughran started from the eleventh place and brilliantly drove up the field. Peter MacLeod jumped in and continued the work. He kept the car on track and drove a superb clean second half to fourth place.
^ÓI do not know if I have to be disappointed or happy about the result,^Ô said Peter MacLeod. ^ÓWe have one of the best car out there, and we should have been on the podium at each of the last 6 races. We are always struck with bad luck. If it wouldn^Òt have been of the last full-course yellow, we would have easily passed the #3 Lexus.^Ô
The #6 Tiburon, driven by Steven Gorriaran & Jacques Guénette finished right behind their team mates.
^ÓWe performed so well on Friday, that prior to the race, everybody was pumped and confident to see us on the podium^ÅThat^Òs racing I guess.^Ô Said a disappointed Steven Gorriaran.
Ken Dobson and Beau Buisson won the Sport Touring I class in the Villaconn International #34 BMW Z3. Dobson put the BMW at the front of the class early and built a considerable lead before handing the car over during a caution to Buisson, who cruised to the victory.
The final round of the Grand-Am Cup Series will be at Daytona during the Grand American Finale, November 8-10.
