Baltimore Boy Pulls Double-Duty in Int'l Racing Circuit This Weekend.
May 19, 2004; Baltimore, MD -- #2 Grand Am points leader, Marc Bunting, slated to pull double-duty this weekend, May 22 to May 23, in both the Grand Am Rolex Series (6 Hours) and Grand Am Cup (250 mi.) at Le Circuit Mont-Tremblant, Canada.
Currently the #2 Grand Am points leader, Bunting will team with Andy Lally in the Rolex series in a Porsche GT 3 Cup Car (SGS class Super Grand-Sport). This season Bunting and Lally have teamed with Baltimore-based TPC Racing for two third-place finishes and a second--keeping them in second place in the points standings, two points from the leader.
Bunting also returns to his successful Team Lexus roots in the Grand-AM Cup in Mont-Tremblant, co-driving with Lally, in a Lexus IS300ST (Sport Touring class). Bunting first experienced victory with Team Lexus in the 2000 season He contested 10 Motorola Cup races in ST class Lexus GS400 entries; was class winner at Road America; and recorded a best finish of second at Watkins Glen.
In 2002 and 2003, Bunting drove for The Racers Group in the GT class of both the American Le Mans Series and Grand American Road Racing, recording seven top-five GTS finishes during his inaugural year.
Marc Bunting is a life-long Baltimorean who resides in Monkton, MD with his daughters Jessie and Calli. Currently, he serves on the board of many Baltimore philanthropic and civic organizations such as Civic Works, PAL (Police Athletic League), the National Aquarium, and Catholic Charities.
