TURNER BMWs LOOKING TO SCORE BIG IN NEW JERSEY
NEW JERSEY MOTORSPORTS PARK, Millville, NJ (March 29, 2009) -- With one big win under their belt this season, Turner Motorsport Racing sets its sights on New Jersey this weekend for round three of the Grand-Am Koni Sports Car Challenge. The racing action kicks off with practice and qualifying sessions this Friday, followed by the waving of the green flag signaling the race start on Saturday at 3:10pm. The race will be televised tape-delay on The Speed Channel next Saturday, May 9 at 12pm ET.
Turner Motorsport will be racing both their winning formula BMW M3s, including the #96 Turner Motorsport/MOTUL M3 which last year held the fastest time in practice and secured a podium finish, as well as the #97 H&R/StopTech Brakes M3 which turned the fastest race lap during the same contest. The TMS team will also be racing the #95 Turner Motorsport/Pagid Brakes E90 328i, which after respectable finishes in both it's very first and second races, is hoping to make the third time a charm.
In the GS class, Daytona Winners Matt Bell and Bill Auberlen will again be piloting the #96 Turner Motorsport/MOTUL Lubricants M3, while fellow TMS Drivers Chris Gleason and Joey Hand man the wheel of the #97 H&R Springs/StopTech Brakes M3. Both the TMS GS cars and drivers are at the peak of their abilities, and are poised for great performances at New Jersey's Thunderbolt Raceway.
In the ST class, Turner Motorsport will be debuting its newest edition to the driver line up, Paul Dalla Lana, who joins the TMS team as a rookie contender for 2009. Paul started professional racing in the Mobile 1 GT Spring class in Canada. He also races a BMW E46 in the Canadian Touring Car Championship. A Motorsport enthusiast all his life, Paul has raced everything from motorcycles to off-road trucks. Earlier in 2009, Paul competed in the Tuareg Rallye in Morocco. Paul is a real estate developer from Toronto, Canada. Both he and team owner Will Turner will be driving the #95 Turner Motorsport/H&R Springs BMW 328i.
On track with Turner Motorsport are some of the most highly developed products in the racing and tuning world. Turner Motorsport depends on the best names in the industry for their race and championship-winning machines -- H&R Springs, StopTech Brakes, Forgeline Wheels, Borla Exhaust, Pagid Racing brake pads, Motul Lubricants, and Piloti Driving Shoes.
This weekend's activity starts off with Practice and Qualifying on Friday, and combined GS & ST Races on Saturday. The race is a 2.5 hour endurance around the 2.25 mile course, and will be aired the following Saturday, May 9 at 12:00 PM ET on SPEED.
Live timing and scoring is available thru the Koni Challenge website.
