Adam Burrows and Trevor Hopwood will look to keep their Grand-Am KONI Challenge championship momentum going on Sunday in the Turner Motorsport BMW 330 after Hopwood secured fifth on the grid for Sunday's EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio with a fast lap time of 1:38.033-seconds. The two hold a one-point lead the ST Class championship after six rounds of KONI racing.

The qualifying effort sets the Turner Motorsport entry as the quickest BMW in the thirty-three car field for Sunday's 400k event. The qualifying effort is also the first of the season for Hopwood, who scored a win to clinch the SCCA Northeast Division GT-1 championship at Mid-Ohio the last time he raced at Mid-Ohio.

"We think with the speed that Adam (Burrows) has been showing here this weekend that it was good for us to mix it up a bit and have me qualify and him finish the race," said Hopwood. "I was hoping we could do a little bit better than fifth, but we know we have a really comfortable car. Some of the guys ahead of us have some remarkable straight-line speed, but our car is really balanced and hopefully that will play out to our advantage over the long runs."

Sunday's 400k-race is slated to get underway at 2:45 PM EST.
