Meyer Motorsports Enters KONI Challenge: Signs Stuard and Brumbaugh

Andy Brumbaugh and Sam Stuard To Run Full Season

COLUMBIA, SC (May 1, 2008) --Meyer Motorsports will campaign Mazda RX-8's for the remainder of the 2008 KONI Challenge Series. The Indianapolis based team has worked around the clock for the last several months to build two competitive cars from the ground up. Meyer Motorsports, led by team owner and driver of the #30 car, Eric Meyer and crew chief Terry Rosenkoetter have researched long and hard to make sure the teams cars have the best equipment and have been well developed. While the team may be new to the competitive KONI Challenge they are not new to racing and are excited about the 2008 season. Competing in the #16 RamTECH entry will be series veteran Andy Brumbaugh, a former Team Lexus driver and promising rookie Sam Stuard who finished second at the 2008 SCCA Runoffs in only his first attempt.

"I am pleased and very excited to announce that my co-driver (Andy Brumbaugh) and I signed with Meyer Motorsports. As a rookie driver in my first year of sedan racing, I feel the team organization will teach me the fundamentals of Pro Racing and be a catalyst for my future career," said Stuard. "Meyer Motorsports will be great, professional representation for my sponsor RamTECH. I am also excited about bringing the whole RamTECH family of employees along with me to Grand-Am."

Team owner Eric Meyer said, "Who could have imagined that a club racer could start a Grand-Am team in January, build two competitive cars from scratch, hire three full time hard working crew members, staff a full season of volunteers and crew and find five fast drivers in four months--for our rookie season! I'm excited about the upcoming year and the lessons that Grand-Am will allow us to learn. Mazda's parts support has been great and everyone affiliated with the team has extended themselves many, many times along with too many 16 hour days. Special thanks to the many Koni and Rolex teams, drivers and crew for offering hints, suggestions and advice to get us up to speed quickly."

"I am very excited to be racing with Sam Stuard and Meyer Motorsports this season. Sam is a fast driver and Meyer Motorsports is a winner," said Brumbaugh. "I have been in love with sports car racing ever since testing with Porsche in Germany. However, this is the first time I have been in a position to compete for a full season in sports cars. Despite this being the team's first season in KONI Challenge, we fully expect to be at the sharp end of the results with all the talent and dedication we have. We are all working really hard to make that happen."
