The Kia Motorsports team left VIR with two top ten finishes in only their fourth outing with the Infinity Audio Kia Forte Koups. It was a banner weekend for Andy Lally with 100 Grand-Am starts and a Rolex win followed up by finishing the Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge race with a 5th place in ST class. But as Ed Hall, general manager Kinetic Motorsports, pointed out to Andy, his average finish for the weekend was a 3rd. Racing is a cruel sport.

Armed with lessons learned from VIR the team set off for "Little Talladega" for more testing, which included some changes to the gearbox snychros to help with some balky shifting still experienced at VIR. In addition, the team worked on different chassis set ups to further their knowledge of the Koups and driver likes and dislikes. Finally, some minor engine tuning was worked on to ensure continued engine reliability. The team reports testing was successful and as they approach Lime Rock Park this weekend they are encouraged with the progress that has been made with the cars so far this season.

Lime Rock Park is a favorite track of the team and should suit the Forte Koups handling and braking characteristics. As the team approaches the midpoint of the season they can honestly say they are pleased with the progress that has been made but also that there is a lot of work left to do to achieve a podium finish.
