APR Motorsport Audi S4 to Looks to Finish What it Started at Lime Rock Park
At the beginning of the season, APR Motorsport introduced the world's first B8 Audi S4 racing car. As with all new race cars, they need a bit of time to develop, but the APR Motorsports team has shown that it does not take long to show pace. After qualifying in the top 5 at Homestead and Barber, and battling amongst the podium contenders at Barber and VIR; the APR Motorsport team looks to seal the deal with a podium finish at Lime Rock Park!
At the VIR the Ian Baas was able to place the car into the top ten in qualifying, and during the race both he and Jordan Taylor moved it up into the top 3 positions before a mechanical issue took them out of the race. Between VIR and Lime Rock the team has found a solution to the issue during their development of the car, "This is what developing a new program is about, something goes wrong and you develop a fix and learn from it. We know we have the pace, and the reliability is getting better all the time. Last year Lime Rock was a turning point for our ST team and I think it will be a turning point for our GS squad this year," said APR Director of Motorsport Jeff Mishtawy.
Once again the 01 APR Motorsports Audi will be driven by Ian Baas and Jordan Taylor, which gives the team one of the best driving lineups in GS. "Jordan and I have been able to work well together right from the start. The chemistry on the team is just amazing, and we're in a great place as both of us are on the same pace, which gives us an advantage over a lot of the other teams in GS" said Ian Baas.
Jordan Taylor is also looking forward to getting on track at Lime Rock, "I've really come to enjoy working with the APR Motorsports team. The Audi S4 is an absolute blast to drive and I can feel a podium finish coming soon. We've been knocking on the door the past few races and I know we are going to break through," said Jordan who will once again be pulling double duty running in both the Rolex and Continental Tire Challenge at Lime Rock Park.
In addition to the Audi effort in the Grand Sport class, APR Motorsport will be competing once again the Street Tuner class with 3 VW Gti. Make sure to watch for APR Motorsport in both classes as they look to take the top step of the podium in GS and ST at Lime Rock Park!
