Long Pond, PA (May 10, 2009)- After a long week of finals at Fordham University in the Bronx, college freshman, Chase Mattioli is ready to set hot laps in the California sun when he and his cousin, Nick Idalsky, compete in the Verizon Festival of Speed, at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in their #47 Pocono Raceway JBS KONI Mustang.

The boys placed 10th in Round 2 of Grand Am's KONI Challenge Series at Homestead-Miami Speedway on, March 15th, and were hoping for a top 5 finish in the Garden State 250, held at Thunderbolt Raceway in New Jersey Motorsports Park; however, a mini cloud burst during their qualifying session cut their plans short. The outcome was disappointing, however Chase quickly put the event behind him and says that "New Jersey was then, and California is now".

Chase is now setting his sights on Laguna. Chase says that he is revved up to race in Laguna, which has the Laguna Corkscrew, one of the most famous turns in racing, and looks forward to getting behind the wheel once again with his cousin Nick.

The season will heat up after Laguna with Chase competing in four races over five weeks, including a KONI Grand Am race at Lime Rock, CT (May 26th), and a NASCAR Camping World East Stock Car Race, South Boston, VA (May 26th). On Friday, June 5th, Chase and Nick will compete in the KONI Grand Am event at Watkins Glen, with Chase doing double duty that weekend, returning to Pocono to compete in the ARCA-RE/MAX 200 on Saturday, June 6th, a prelude to Pocono's Pocono 500, NASCAR Sprint Cup event on Sunday, June 7th.
