TURNER MOTORSPORT HOPING TO TACKLE IOWA - AGAIN

IOWA SPEEDWAY, Newton, IA (August 7, 2008) -- Iowa Speedway, not far outside of Des Moines, is the site for Round 6 of the Koni Challenge sports car series and Turner Motorsport will be in the thick of the battle all weekend. The team is coming off two successful rounds in the series with a top ten finish at Barber and taking the pole and a podium finish at Watkins Glen. All three Turner BMWs will be in action for Sunday's 250-mile endurance race.

Matt Bell and VJ Mirzayan will be wheeling the #95 H&R Springs/Borla Exhaust BMW 330i in the Koni ST class. In the GS class, Matt Alhadeff and Bill Auberlen take the wheel of the #96 Motul Lubricants/StopTech Brakes BMW M3 and Don Salama and Bryan Ortiz will pilot the #97 H&R Springs/Nova Derm/OCG/GoToPuertoRico.com BMW M3.

At last year's Iowa race, the #97 Turner Motorsport BMW M3 earned the pole spot. The #95 Turner Motorsport BMW 330i started the race from the fifth position and finished on the podium. The past success here should put the team on solid footing for this weekend's race.

The race on Sunday will be a combined GS class and ST class event so traffic will be an additional factor to contend with on the 1.3 mile course. Part of the strategy for winning will be staying clear of other cars and incidents. Keeping out of trouble is also essential with the next race on the schedule just one week away in Trois-Riviers, Quebec. The cars and team will be heading straight to Canada after the Iowa race.

The Iowa schedule is a packed one -- Practice all day on Saturday; Qualifying first thing on Sunday morning followed by the 250-mile/2.5 hour race at 5:00pm.
