Daytona Beach, FL -- HRPWorld.com Racing took home two top fives at Daytona International Speedway as the team looks to repeat their second consecutive Triple Crown Championship in Sports Touring II.
With new sponsorship this race from Pennzoil, Howie Liebengood and Will Nonnamaker took home a podium for the HRPWorld.com team as they drove the #43 King Motorsports Acura Integra home to a third place finish. The 2003 Daytona season opener marked the first race for Liebengood with the team.
"I am very pleased with the way Howie drove," commented Will Nonnamaker. "He did January test days with the team and he adapted well to the King Motorsports Integra. During the first lap he had to avoid a spinning car which put him back in the field. He put his head down and worked his way back to the top three."
Taking home fifth place for the HRPWorld.com Racing Team was the driving pair of Mark Swain and Harold Linville. The driving duo drove a very smart race in the NTN Bearings sponsored #42 Integra during the all green race and came home with no damage from the 250 mile race.
"This season is an eleven race season, and this is only round one of a long year," commented crewmember Trevor Whipple. "Third and fifth is a good start to the year and we now have nine weeks until Homestead to continue to fine tune these machines. We have three years of experience with these cars, but with help from King Motorsports and HRPWorld.com, we continue to find small ways to improve these cars."
The HRPworld.com - King Motorsports Acuras will be supported through partnerships with Pennzoil, AEM, American Honda, Denso, Grill Craft, Hawk Brake, Horizon Audio, Mugen Sport, NTN Bearings, TheRaceSite.com, Waikem and Volk Wheels. The Daytona race was the first race of an eleven race season as the team attempts to capture their third consecutive Sports Touring II Championship. The next race will be held on April 13th at Homestead International Raceway.
Catch the Daytona 250 as it is aired on Speed TV February 8th at noon.
