Freedom Autosport and ModSpace Team Up in No. 28 MAZDASPEED3
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla.--Freedom Autosport and ModSpace have formed a partnership to race a MAZDASPEED3 in the Street Tuner Class of the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series. The announcement was made today during the "Roar Before the Rolex 24" Test Days at Daytona International Speedway.
ModSpace is a leading provider of modular buildings, portable storage, and services for temporary or permanent space needs. Based in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, ModSpace has over forty years of experience.
Experience is exactly what prompted ModSpace to team up with Freedom Autosport: the team boasts a long history of success in the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge Series. Freedom Autosport debuted in the series in 2008, earning their first two class wins in 2009 en route to a finish of fourth in points. The 2010 season included two wins, a second place and a pair of third-place finishes.
The No. 28 MAZDASPEED3 will run under the Freedom Autosport and ModSpace banners. In addition, the car is also supported by Construct Corps, a provider of temporary skilled workers for construction, disaster response, environmental and manufacturing companies.
The driver lineup includes Nick Igdalsky, Sam Barnett, Charles Paquin and Bruce Ledoux.
"I'm happy to be racing in the Continental Tire series once again," says Igdalsky. "It's truly an honor to be driving for a terrific company like ModSpace. I am looking forward to getting acclimated with the MAZDASPEED3 and the team at Freedom Autosport."
Ledoux notes, "It's been a three-year haul to get to an opportunity like this with ModSpace, Freedom Autosport and Mazda. It's so exciting to finally get it all together with such great partners. I'm excited to drive with my co-drivers and to have their help in carrying the Guardian Angel Motorsports mission into the 2011 season. It's a dream come true for me."
For Barnett, this season will mark his GRAND-AM debut. "I'm very excited to be making the step up to the GRAND-AM Continental Tire Series this season in the ModSpace Construct Corps MAZDASPEED3," he says.
Will Mann, Director of Motorsports for ModSpace, says, "I'm pleased to have these four drivers representing ModSpace and Construct Corps in the MAZDASPEED3. Our Partners Mazda and Freedom Autosport have been great to work with both on and off the track, and we look forward to an exciting season this year."
Following this weekend's test, the No. 28 Freedom Autosport ModSpace Construct Corps MAZDASPEED3 will next be seen in the season opener at Daytona on Friday, January 28.
