Owen Trinkler Ready to Start 2008 Strong
Daytona, FL:- Owen Trinkler will pilot the #198 RSR Motorsports Mini Cooper S at the opening round of the 2008 KONI Challenge Series at the Fresh From Florida 200 at the famous Daytona International Speedway. Owen is very excited about this race, as it will be the first of a new deal that will see him in the #198 Mini Cooper S for the full year. His enthusiasm is certainly apparent. "This race means a lot to me, as I want to get the year off to a great start. I want to thank Randy Smalley for the opportunity to be able to race with him this year, and judging by our success together in the races we did together races last year, I am looking forward to making a strong push for an ST Championship in the KONI Challenge Series in 2008. The car is fantastic, and Randy and I always make an awesome team."
Team owner Randy Smalley shares Owen's excitement and high hopes: "We want to prove that our strong showings last year were no fluke. This team has worked very hard to prepare the Mini Cooper S and always gives us a fantastic setup. I'm looking forward to having Owen on board for the entire year, knowing how much his experience and speed will help this team fight for a championship in 2008!"
The team will certainly be aiming to find a setup that will allow the Mini to make the most out of its strengths in the infield sections, and still be able to hold its own on the long banked straights of the speedway. Owen remains confident though. "We may have to fight a little harder on the straights than some of the other cars, but the Mini's overall package will make for a strong run. And it also comes down to preparation, and this team is going to do a great job as always!"
