Bill Fenton Motorsports Ready for Daytona
January 18, 2008 - KEENE, NH - Bill Fenton Motorsports will return to the Koni Challenge series in 2008 with a familiar driver lineup, as well as the team's pair of familiar Acura RSX's, to open the season at Daytona International Speedway on January 25th.
Todd Lamb and David Thilenius will once again co-drive the #27 Eastern Powersports Auction Acura. Lamb and Thilenius qualified 2nd in their first race at Daytona in 2007; this year they hope to improve on their 4th place finish. Todd Lamb: "It's good to be back with the same team in 2008. The things Dave and I learned about the car setup last year will help us be even better this year. And we know that the key to a successful weekend includes plenty of chips and salsa for the team."
Mike Liebl and Bob Beede will pilot the #29 Southern Auto Auction Acura. The pair qualified 4th in 2007 and with their experience in endurance racing are expected to be in contention for the win. Liebl is a past winner with Bill Fenton Motorsports at Daytona, while Beede has a series championship on his resume.
Mike Liebl: "I'm looking forward to running with Bob at Daytona. We didn't get the result we were looking for last year but we had the speed to be up front. To echo what Todd said, we really should have Tostitos as a sponsor - it would cut the weekend's food bill in half."
Prior to the second race of the season at Lime Rock, Bill Fenton Motorsports will undergo some significant changes which will include the debut of a new car. More details will be announced in the coming months.
