Broken Front Brake Caliper Forces i-MOTO Drivers to Settle for a Top Five Finish at Barber Motorsports:

Birmingham, AL -- With less then 15 minute to go in the 2 ½ Hour Barber Motorsports 400K Race, Team i-MOTO drivers Nick Wittmer and Glenn Bocchino (piloting the #31 Acura TSX) fell victim to a broken front brake caliper. On lap 77 of the 86 lap race the front brake caliper seal broke, leaking all brake fluid out of the hydraulic system. Nick Wittmer just passed Pierre Kleinubing seven laps earlier to take over 3rd. Running nearly 2 seconds a lap faster then second place driver Trevor Hopwood and leader Jamie Holtom, Nick was on pace to fight for the win. Incredibly, Nick Wittmer drove the final 9 laps with no brakes only to lose two positions settling for 5th place. Co-driver and team owner Glenn Bocchino qualified 5th on the grid and pitting on lap 46 from 4th place.

Pitting under a green flag the i-MOTO pit crew made a flawless pit stop, losing only 3 positions keeping the team car within striking distance of the leaders. Nick Wittmer passed four cars for 3rd place in 24 laps before disaster stuck.

After nine rounds of the Koni Challenge series, i-MOTO team drivers, Nick Wittmer is 5th; Glenn Bocchino is 6th in the driver's point's standings.
