In a pre-cursor to possible Grand-Am action, former Barber-CART Karting Scholarship winner James Gue recently completed a three day test in the Miracle Motorsports Riley& Scott at Daytona International Speedway. Among those who Gue shared testing duties with were team owner John Macaluso, 2000 Toyota Atlantic champion Buddy Rice and former Barber Dodge Pro Series pilot Andy Lally.

The Daytona test marked the first time Gue had been behind the wheel of a high powered car. Within a matter of laps, the Roswell, Georgia native was at ease with the 700+ horsepower of the Riley& Scott machine. Gue completed approximately 28 laps in the test and worked up to some competitive lap times just slightly slower than those set by the more experienced duo of Rice and Lally. Although driver line-ups have already been set for the 24 hour race, the tests suggest that Gue may land a seat at some point with R& S during the season.

"It was an amazing experience having all that horsepower. I just have to thank Mr. Macaluso for giving me the opportunity. I learned a huge amount during the three days, especially being able to compare data with both Buddy and Andy."
