Petaluma, California -- Road racing stalwart Ron Fellows will substitute for Jan Magnussen in the number 64/TRG/Pontiac GTO.R at Mid-Ohio next weekend. Fellows will partner GTO.R regular Paul Edwards in the Grand American Rolex Series round ten of the EMCO Gears Classic to be run at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course on August 27th.

The Canadian has an off weekend and Magnussen has a prior commitment in the Danish Touring Series. Fellows returns to the series where he last won the Daytona 24 Hours, overall, in a Chevrolet Corvette in 2001.

"I am driving a variety of GM cars this summer," said Fellows. "I ran the Chevy at Watkins in NASCAR last weekend, the Corvette this weekend and the GTO.R next Saturday. After that I will have another shot at the CTS-V at Mosport. I will have the opportunity to do some quality laps on the promoter test day on Thursday, which should be more than enough to get familiar with the car. I have been told that the performance is somewhere between the CTS-V and the Corvette. I have a lot to live up to as they got their first win at the NASCAR Watkins Glen weekend. We had the seat fitting yesterday, I learned that Jan is a little short and Paul Edwards is skinny. It is a tight fit, but we will make it work."

"It will be nice to get another opinion on the performance and handling of the GTO.R," said Kevin Buckler, TRG team owner. "Ron has a lot of experience in a many different cars. His professionalism and input can only help this team improve and keep winning."

Fellows road racing biography includes his Daytona 24 Hour overall victory, three ALMS GTS championships, four 24 Hours of Le Mans GTS wins, and several top finishes in NASCAR road races.

Round ten of the Grand American Rolex Series will be run at Mid-Ohio Sportscar Course on August 27th and be televised the next day, August 28th, starting at 12:00 p.m. EST on the Speed Channel.
