THED BJORK, No. 79 Team Sweden Nissan Lola, SRP II pole winner: "We fell back early when we made an early pit stop to check a tire, because we thought we had an air leak. We're running good. It's hectic out there, there's cars everywhere, so it's going to be tough. On the first corner of the first lap, a car spins in front of me, there's smoke everywhere, I didn't think that would happen in a 24-hour race. But now we're prepared."
LYNDON AMICK, No. 44 Team Amick Chevrolet Corvette, on the possibility of having to race in the rain. "Only thing I've driven in the rain is my pickup truck. I look forward to it, really, it's a challenge. I've got some schoolin' from Scott [Hoerr] and Joe [Varde], and from what I've heard, they were really good in the rain. I don't think the Earnhardts will have any problem with it; they're good."
PAUL GENTILOZZI, No. 5 Rocketsports HomeLink Saleen S7R: "We're not sure whether we cut a tire or broke a mount in the upper control arm, but the mount is broken. We can repair it, but you can't win Daytona running 22 and a half hours. The only reason to be here is to win the race, we're too old to need practice. We might come back (to the Grand-Am) this year, you might see us in a nice AGT car."
PHILIP COLLIN, No. 57 Seikel Motorsports Porsche GT3RS): "I was overtaking a slower Porsche GT3R in the bus stop. He must have touched the grass, because we were running side-by-side and his car suddenly made a sharp right turn into the nose of our car. It was a pretty solid impact. At least the damage was totally isolated to the front left corner, so I'm sure we'll be back in the race. I'm OK, just upset."
CLINT FIELD, No. 37 InterSports Banana Joe's Judd Lola: "We were running right up front, but we had to come in to replace the clutch. We'll get it back out there."
