The Risi Competizione Ferrari team announced today that it will not enter the 47th Annual 12 Hours of Sebring to be held on March 18, 2000, as originally announced.

"It's unfortunate, but the updated car with the evolution engine is not yet ready and the car, as it currently sits, just will not be able to compete against the strong Sebring field. It's in the best interest of our team, drivers and sponsors to not enter at Sebring," said Team Engineer and Risi Competizione team co-owner John McLoughlin.

The Risi Ferrari team will now focus its energies on several tests in March and preparing for round two of the Grand American Road Racing Series at Phoenix International Raceway, April 14-16, 2000. Additionally, the Risi Competizione team has submitted and entry to compete in the 24 Hours of LeMans, June 17-18, 2000.

"We're very excited about LeMans and turning much of our attention towards the preparation for the race as well as the full Grand Am schedule. We've got a comprehensive test program planned for next month and the decision not to go to Sebring will allow us to concentrate on these other areas of racing that are more important to the team and our overall plan for 2000," added McLoughlin.

The team will make further announcements regarding driver line-up and other team developments in the near future.
