Plumb leads the CTSCC Road Atlanta race and Al Carter crosses the line in 8th

Following three disappointing races, Al Carter and Hugh Plumb traveled to Road Atlanta with the goal of scoring a top result to finally put behind them an early season that did not bring to fruition the hopes that both drivers had over the winter for the 2013 Continental Tire Sports Car Challenge championship.

This scenario brought its dose of excitement since Hugh Plumb was able to lead round 4 of the 2013 CTSCC. Then Al Carter took over the driving duty of the No. 45 Eagle Tech Systems / B+ Foundation / Jetset Magazine Fall-Line BMW with almost an hour to go in the race and did an excellent job.

He crossed the finish line in 8th place bringing the first top ten finish of the year to the No. 45 Eagle B+ Racing Fall-Line Motorsports team.

The race week started on Wednesday afternoon with a visit to the Children's Healthcare Center of Atlanta, the Aflac Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders at Egleston.

This was the 3rd stop of the 2013 "B+ Racing Fighting Childhood Cancer Tour" and the two B+ Foundation Ambassadors received an exceptional welcome from the hospital staff, the children and their families.

As Al Carter anticipated before the event, the Fall-Line Motorsports team was competitive from the time they unloaded off the truck. In the first and only dry practice session before the Saturday warm-up, the No. 48 and No. 45 Fall-Line BMW M3s were amongst the top three fastest cars, a good omen for the rest of the weekend.

The rain started to fall by the end of the first practice session and later the qualifying was cancelled forcing the Grand-Am officials to make the starting grid based on driver's points as per the rule book.

With a 19th starting position, Hugh Plumb had a great challenge ahead of him at the start of the PricewaterhouseCoopers 250, to take his No. 45 Eagle B+ Racing BMW to the front and he did.

The race proved once again that we can expect great performances from Hugh, one of the most experienced and talented Grand-Am racers, in the next seven races of the season. At the end of his stint Hugh Plumb was credited with leading two laps (50/51), right before pitting following his double stint.

For the first time in three seasons at Fall-Line, Al Carter was the finishing driver. Al took command of the No. 45 machine in 11th place with 25 laps to go and did an impressive job.

The decision taken by the two B+ racers to change their racing strategy paid off and finally brought a positive result to the team that desperately needed one. It also provided a valuable opportunity for Carter to gather even more competitive racing experience since he was able to race "mano a mano" with the best racers in the series during the last hour of the event.

When a race-ending caution waved with 12 minutes remaining, Al Carter was running in 8th place. The incident required lengthy repairs to the barrier that resulted in the race ending under caution.

Carter and Plumb and their Fall-Line team will now have almost two months to prepare for the next event in Ohio.
