It was an interesting test day on 18th October for the Picchio DP3. Andrea Montermini was at the wheel of the car for a test day on the Magione track. The purpose was to try new developments on the aerodynamics side in order to improve the car's performance.

In tests throughout the day, besides aerodynamics issues, the pilot from Modena suggested also some setup variations which were also tested. Andrea was around the car for a long time, talking to the Picchio technical staff, giving interesting cues and feedback from driving the car on the track. Even though the tests weren't aimed at obtaining great lap times, the chronometer showed that the driver quickly adjusted his style to the car and also that the Picchio DP3 has a potential to be developed still further.

The testing schedule now provides another possible tryout on 27th October with the new shock absorbers, and then the car should be ready for an intensive tests session, both dynamic and aerodynamic, to be held in Vallelunga between November 7th and 9th. The testing will then "stop" to get the installed engine homologated for the Grand-Am Championship and then it will be ready, in a definitive version, for the last tests.
