Eric Lux, Charles Espenlaub, and Team Sahlen Ready Themselves for Rolex Race at Phoenix

Team Sahlen left Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca for Phoenix International Raceway with a top-ten in the Rolex Grand American Grand Touring (GT) class. The Laguna race was the first time this season Lux and Espenlaub sat behind the wheel of a Team Sahlen GT class Porsche. With that first Rolex race with Team Sahlen under their belt the team is looking forward to an even better performance.

"The Rolex race will be the team's third race of the day. Eric and Charles are in the Grand-Am Cup Grand Sport class race. The real challenge for us is battling exhaustion but our team is up to it. Eric and Charles prove they are excellent drivers in our cars and we will have a very good Rolex race here at Phoenix," states crew chief Mike Thomas.

Lux and Espenlaub will join together in the Team Sahlen Grand Touring car for the GAINSCO Grand Prix. At the Laguna Seca race, the co-drivers took seventh place. Neither Lux nor Espenlaub drove a GT class car during the 2005 Phoenix race but the team believe that their recent experience in the car will benefit them this weekend.

"They came out with a top-ten finish last weekend during a difficult race. We all are looking forward to a repeat performance from the team and both Eric and Charles," added Thomas.

Speed will air coverage of the GAINSCO Grand Prix on Sunday, May 14th at 3:00 PM EST. For live timing and scoring during the race log onto www.GrandAmerican.com on Saturday, May 13th at 7:00 PM MST.
