Fords dominating Rolex 24
Ford powered Daytona Prototypes were running first, second, and fourth overall after 21 hours at the 50th Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway. Oswaldo Negri, Jr. led the way in the No. 60 Michael Shank Racing Ford Riley. Allan McNish, driving the No. 8 Starworks Ford Riley, was running second, about two tenths of a second behind Negri. The Ganassi Racing BMW Riley of Graham Rahal held down third, just over four seconds adrift of McNish.
Two laps back were the second entries from Michael Shank and Ganassi, respectively.
The top Action Express Racing Corvette DP was three laps down to the leaders.
Rene Rast in the Magnus Racing Porsche led the GT class, running eleventh overall. The Porsches of Jeroen Bleekemolen and Andrew Davis rounded out the top-three in class, followed by the Risi Ferrari 458. The top Camaro GT.R, fielded by Stevenson Motorsports, lay fifth.
