Fusion Racing with MSR Announces New Title Sponsor and Guest Driver for Daytona 24

"Graydon Elliott Fusion Racing with MSR" ready for 2006

(Daytona Beach, FL) 5 January 06-- Fusion Racing with MSR is pleased to announce the title sponsor for the #6 Riley-Lexus will be the Graydon Elliott Group. For the 2006 season #6 Riley will be referred to as Graydon Elliott Fusion Racing with MSR.

Graydon Elliott, a Canadian-based, Investment Banking and Wealth Management Group, specializes in a wide range of financial advisory services and products. The rapidly expanding company will be utilizing its connection with the Fusion Racing with MSR team to continue its expansion into the United States.

Graydon Elliott first became involved with MSR (Michael Shank Racing) in 2005 as an associate sponsor for the #6 machine and the positive results have led the firm to move into a title sponsor role for 2006. Mears Motor Coach, which adorned the #6 Michael Shank Racing entry that visited the podium twice in 2005, will maintain its association with the team in 2006, and continues to be an important partner for the team.

While team owner Fusion Racing will manage the team's business opportunities, MSR will continue to manage the day-to-day business of striving for that podium finish.

Fusion Racing partner and MSR owner Mike Shank said, "Graydon Elliott's corporate profile is very similar to ours and we have put everything in place to grow together. I am also very happy that Mears Transportation will remain with the team this season as they have been excellent to work with. They have such a strong presence in Florida that the races at Daytona and Homestead are almost like home events for us."

Graydon Elliott President and CEO Rodney Gelineau said the appeal of the sponsorship doesn't just lie in the opportunity to entertain clients and introduce the brand to a new and growing audience, but the competitive nature of the sport is also something that is important to Graydon Elliott.

"Graydon Elliott is a rapidly-growing firm and has recently expanded into the United States thanks to hard work and thorough preparation," said Gelineau. "These are the same qualities that we see in Fusion Racing and Mike's (Shank) team. The Rolex Sports Car Series is experiencing growth that is unparalleled in the sport and we are excited to be associated with the series and the opportunities that this partnership is going to create for us. Competition drives us to succeed as a company and our employees and our clients are very excited about watching the races. We are definitely looking forward to a strong season on the track."

This new partnership between Canadian-based Fusion Racing and MSR as well as the Canadian title sponsor Graydon Elliott also received strong support from series organizers.

"We are excited to have Graydon Elliott move into this role with Michael Shank Racing," said Edmondson. "Team partnerships like this are of course the lifeblood of the sport and we are pleased that Graydon Elliott has decided to make the Rolex Sports Car Series a central element of their marketing strategy with Michael Shank Racing."

As Graydon Elliott is a Canadian company working towards crossing the border to build on their success, Fusion Racing with MSR has chosen a fourth driver for the Daytona 24 who is Canadian and has done just that.

Toronto native and 2003 Champ Car Champion Paul Tracy will be the team's fourth driver in the Rolex 24, one of the premier road racing events in North America. This will be Tracy's second Rolex 24 and he is excited this time around to be driving with a Canadian owned team with a major Canadian sponsor.

"Mike (Shank) was the first guy who approached me and I had worked with Dennis (Bainbridge) before, so everything came together pretty easily," said Tracy. "For me, the combination of driving for a good team with a solid driver line-up and a Canadian sponsor was a good fit."

"I wasn't able to drive in this race for a long time because of my contract, but fortunately with Forsythe I have the option to drive some different cars and keep busy in the off-season," he added.

Tracy sees the 24 as another physical challenge that will reward all his efforts training for his regular duties in Champ Car.

"We will be doing five or six stints each for the race, and that's pretty much like running five races for me. You are using the same muscles almost no matter what car you drive, and so of course being in good shape is important as always."

While he is happy with the caliber of his fellow drivers and being able to work with a Canadian sponsor, it is very clear Tracy wants to visit the podium in his second attempt.

"To win this race is a crown jewel of motorsport. I was amazed with the quality of drivers in last year's field, and there are going to be even more this year. The list is very strong, and it's a lot of drivers that are just the cream of the crop. I'm here to win. That's why I chose to run with these guys and with this team. Mike (Shank) has been here from the start and has a lot of experience running this race, so I think we can be right there," Tracy said.

Michael Shank Racing will also contest the full 2006 Rolex Sports Car Series season with the #60 Flight Options Lexus-Riley being piloted by Mark Patterson and Oswaldo Negri for the full season, with RuSport teammates A.J. Allmendinger and Justin Wilson joining the team for the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
