Jan. 13, 2000 - The Motorola Cup Series announced today that it will return to Sebring International Raceway for a three hour race during the historic 12 Hour Weekend, March 15-19 2000.
"We're very pleased to be back at The 12 Hours of Sebring again this year," sold Eric Berman, General Manager of the Motorola Cup Series. "The event has long been a favorite among our competitors and entrants and we always enjoy working with Sebring's experienced team. With so many different series attending this years' event, it should make for a very exciting weekend with all types of racing action for the fans."
Part of the excitement will be the introduction of Motorola Cup's new SGS (Super Grand Sports) Class cars. A dozen new Vipers, Vettes, Porsches; and BMWs took part in the series test days held last week at Daytona, where The Motorola Cup Series 2000 season will begin on February 4th as part of the Rolex 24 Hours. From there the series will move to Sebring for the much anticipated 12 Hour weekend.
