Papis and Brumos Team on the Podium at Mont-Tremblant

Outstanding driving by "Mad Max" Papis and his Brumos Racing teammates, Hurley Haywood and JC France, took the team from the sixth starting position to second overall in the Grand American 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant race, September 21, in Quebec, Canada. This was Papis' first podium finish this season. The team's sister car, the No. 58 Brumos Porsche FABCAR, driven by David Donohue, Mike Borkowski and Sascha Maassen, started from the pole and won the race.

"It was a good race. I really enjoyed it," said Papis. "We had gotten behind during the third hour when we had problem and lost two laps in the pits. I was able to work very hard and gain back a lap during my double stint. After the first 15 race laps, I got a good grip on the car. We went two seconds faster than we did in qualifying."

Papis turned the fastest lap of the day for the No. 59 Brumos Porshe, a 1:32.517 at 87.065 miles per hour on lap 159. Haywood took the wheel from Papis for the final hour and to take the classic No. 59 Brumos Porsche to the checkered flag, like he has done for three decades.

"I want to say how excited I am to be able to be on the podium with Brumos Racing, my first podium finish this year. Everyone on the Brumos team has a lot of motivation to do well. This was very positive result. We worked well together and I'm looking forward to the possibly of driving a Daytona Prototype in next year's Daytona 24 hours. Thanks to Bob Snodgrass and all the people at Brumos Racing for the experience and the people at Porsche for a great engine ."
