Following an in-depth analysis of all the parts involved in the retirement of the No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsport Porsche GT3 from the 2013 Rolex 24 at Daytona race, Team Manager and NGT Motorsport owner, Ramez Wahab, reported that a brake rotor exploded, causing the suspension failure while leading the GT class prior to the 19-hour mark.
“I am so proud of my team for the amazing effort everyone made to give us such a strong charge at Daytona. It was an exceptional effort for a privateer team,” added Wahab.
“I wish to congratulate Ramez Wahab and the MOMO NGT Motorsport team on their outstanding performance in the 2013 24 Hours of Daytona,” said Jens Walther, President and CEO Porsche Motorsport. “The entire team did a fantastic job, not only in the preparation for the race, but the entire event. Unfortunately, the result was not what they were expecting or we were hoping. Nevertheless, the team successfully withstood the strong factory effort of Audi and Ferrari for a large part of the race. This is a great testimony to the professionalism and the quality of the team.”
Drivers Henrique Cisneros, Sean Edwards, Kuba Giermaziak and Patrick Pilet piloted the No. 30 MOMO NGT Motorsports Porsche GT3 at this year’s Rolex 24 running.
