Holly Hill, Florida (June 20, 2006) The Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course may be the closet thing to a hometown track for Spirit of Daytona owner/driver Doug Goad. Metro-Detroit native, Goad, has raced at the Mid-Ohio track numerous times, and in 2004 finished 6th overall in the 09 Pontiac-powered Daytona Prototype (DP). Goad will be paring up with fellow Spirit of Daytona Grand Am Cup driver, Marc-Antoine Camirand.

French Canadian Camirand has been in the 09 Daytona Prototype many times throughout the 2006 season but never got a chance to race it on track. Camirand has been testing the DP during the race weekends for the team. But now more so than ever the Canadian is looking to race in the 09 Crawford Prototype.

"I tested the car in Daytona this past month and it really got me excited to race it on track. We figured out the setup and I have been waiting all year to compete in the car," said Camirand. "It will be great to have Marc back in the car this race. He has competed at Mid-Ohio a lot and has had some great finishes on track. Overall Mid-Ohio has been good to us," said Troy Flis, team owner/manager.

As Spirit of Daytona prepares for the second half of the season, Doug Goad will be looking to gain more points for the Trueman Award. Goad's strategy is to stay in the DP as long as possible to make up points that were lost due to the early finish at Watkins Glen.
