CITGO Racing Team honoring Muscular Dystrophy Association for third consecutive race

Denver, NC (August 22, 2005) . Andy Wallace and Milka Duno will be looking to climb "one more step" this year as the Grand American Rolex Series travels to the Mid-Ohio Road Racing Course for the EMCO Gears Classic this Saturday. Last season, Wallace sparked a late-race charge to net the CITGO Racing Team a second-place finish at the 2.258-mile, 13-turn course.

The tenth of fourteen Rolex Series events for 2005 will be a severe test on the tight, competitive Ohio track. However, the CITGO Racing Team and their #2 Pontiac Crawford will be coming to Ohio with high hopes in search of their second victory and fourth top-five finish of the season. Wallace and Duno teamed with Jan Lammers to win the 6 Heures du Circuit Mont-Tremblant in May. That was the third career victory for the CITGO Racing Team. Wallace and Duno swept both Rolex races at the Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2004.

The #2 CITGO Racing Team will also feature a special paint scheme at Mid- Ohio this weekend. For the third consecutive race, CITGO will be celebrating their 20th anniversary with the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The MDA logo will be positioned on the front panel and both sides of the Pontiac Crawford. During their twenty years associated with MDA, CITGO has raised over $70 million for the MDA programs and research.

The CITGO Racing Team will welcome as their guest at the EMCO Gears Classic 4-year old Bailey Dull, representing the Mid-Ohio Muscular Dystrophy Association. Dull has Duchenne MD and will attend the race with family and friends and have the opportunity to visit with the drivers and crew of the CITGO / MDA Racing Team prior to the event.

"I feel as though we've got some unfinished business to take care of this weekend," Wallace commented. "We had a strong car last year, but ran out of laps at the end. The CITGO Pontiac Crawford will be really fast at Mid- Ohio, and I'd love to carry this special CITGO / MDA car to victory lane."

"We really have some momentum and energy heading to Mid-Ohio," Duno added. "Jan (Lammers) and I scored a 6th-place finish at Watkins Glen and last year Andy and I delivered a 2nd-place for CITGO and Howard-Boss Motorsports. Andy and I will try and use our successful strategy from last year and build on it with all we've learned so far this season. Combined with the constant improvements to the car by the team, I think that with a little luck on our side, we could score another podium and hopefully a win."

"We'll have even more incentive to try and deliver a good finish as we will be racing the final race of a three-race promotion with CITGO and MDA," Duno continued. "Our #2 CITGO Pontiac Crawford will feature the special Muscular Dystrophy Association paint scheme and synergistic 'Energy to Care' logo. CITGO is celebrating their 20th anniversary as a corporate sponsor of the MDA, and Andy and I, along with the team, will be working very hard to score a podium to add an exclamation point to the very worthwhile promotion."

The EMCO Gears Classic is set for a 5:30 PM ET start on Saturday, August 27th. Speed Channel will provide tape-delayed coverage of the event beginning at noon on Sunday, August 28th.
