FULL SPEED AHEAD FOR FRONT-ROW STARTING LUIS DIAZ IN LEXINGTON

LEXINGTON, Ohio (August 26, 2005) -- Although 2004 Daytona Prototype champion Scott Pruett did not have a chance to back up his Mid-Ohio pole-winning performance of a year ago around the driver-friendly 2.258-mile circuit tucked in the shadows of the Central Ohio countryside, CompUSA teammate Luis Diaz strapped in for the scheduled 15-minute session and made Pruett proud by carding a top time of 1:20.395 (101.111mph) and scoring the team a front-row starting spot for the EMCO Gears Classic.

Diaz' drive was exactly what the Mexico City, Mexico native was looking for out of the inviting permanent road course venue, and his second place result secured the team's fifth front-row gridding position in 10 races to date on the Rolex Series calendar.

"We actually had a bit of traffic and I had to make a couple of passes just after the start-finish line heading into Turn 1," said Diaz. "The car performed very well even though I was experiencing a loose-to-neutral feeling in it. That lent itself to a fast qualifying setup, but we have some changes that we know will tighten it back up for the race tomorrow."

Diaz will begin tomorrow's 111-lap, 250-mile Daytona Prototype duel from the cockpit of CompUSA Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates' 500hp machine before handing off the driving duties to road course ace Pruett. The tandem will continue their pursuit of the points-leading no.10 SunTrust Racing car (282-261) when the green flag drops over the monstrous 43-car Rolex Series field.
