BEYER RACING DRIVERS ARRIVE EARLY TO PREPARE FOR MID OHIO

Lexington, Ohio - June 18th, 2009 - The Beyer Racing team arrived at the Mid Ohio Sports Car Course today with high hopes as it prepares for the EMCO Gears Classic presented by KeyBank, round 6 of the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal Cask No. 16.

Halfway through its rookie Rolex Sports Car Series Season, the Beyer Racing squad has had a strong run achieving three top ten finishes with the youngest group of drivers in the field: Jordan Taylor (18), Jared Beyer (19), Ricky Taylor (19) and Mike Forest (27).

Beyer Racing is also the only team running with Comptech/Honda power. The No. 5 Beyer Racing Lennox Comptech/Honda Riley, which made its debut at Laguna Seca earlier in the season, is driven by Jared Beyer and Jordan Taylor. The young rookies arrived early to Mid Ohio and had the opportunity to learn the 2.258-mile, 13 turn road course by taking part in the local racing school for a day.

The No. 13 Lennox Pontiac Riley is driven by Ricky Taylor and Mike Forest, both of which competed last year at this track in the GT category. The duo got to experience Mid Ohio in the wet last year which should prove to be useful experience as rain is again expected this weekend.

Beyer Racing will debut a brand new website this weekend as well. Please visit www.beyerracing.com where you can get up to date news, images, video, driver blogs, and you can also sign up for the team's mailing list.

"Coming to a new track is always nerve-racking, especially knowing that this is a big race, we are right in the middle of the season and it's going to rain. But we spent a whole day at the Mid Ohio racing school and got a chance to run in the rain, so we got to learn both the dry and wet lines, which gives me a lot of confidence coming into the race. We had a good test at Watkins Glen and found a lot of speed in the car so we should be good here."

"I'm really looking forward to this weekend. This will be our second race with the Comptech/Honda car, we had a good test at Watkins Glen and we managed to work out a lot of the bugs that we had at Laguna Seca, we also have a new six-speed gearbox that should definitely help our performance.

Jared and I did the racing school here at Mid Ohio for a day which will make the learning curve easier and help us be more prepared for the weekend. The track is a lot of fun, it's going to be busy with the Daytona Prototypes, there's just nowhere to rest. The race is going to be tough, especially if it rains."

Mike Forest
No. 13 Lennox Pontiac Riley

"There is a good chance of rain this weekend just as last year, so we are going to have to be prepared for both a dry and a wet track. This is only my third race in this car but I feel more confident with every lap, this is a track that I really like and I think that if we can stay out of trouble and be smart both on dry and wet conditions we can finish up front. I'm definitely looking forward to this event"

Ricky Taylor
No. 13 Lennox Pontiac Riley

"This is one of the few tracks that I've been to before so far this year so I feel that I am very prepared for this weekend, last year I competed here in a GT car so I know what to expect as far as traffic and also I know what the track is like on the wet.

We have been improving with every event, we had a really good test at Watkins Glen and we had the chance to try out many different things and make lots of changes. All the drivers and engineers have been to this track before so I think we will have a good setup for the weekend."

The green flag for the EMCO Gears Classic Presented by KeyBank will drop at 5 p.m. ET on Saturday. The race will be televised live on SPEED. Practice begins at 9:30 a.m. Friday, with qualifying at 5:10 p.m. Friday. The weekend also includes a pair of Grand-Am KONI Sports Car Challenge races, with a Grand Sport race at 1:45 p.m. Saturday and a Street Tuner event at 1:30 p.m. Sunday.
