Michael Shank Racing Enters Ford-powered Dallara for EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Following Watkins Glen Fire

Columbus, OH (8 June 2010)-Michael Shank Racing will enter a Dallara-Ford in the upcoming EMCO Gears Classic at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course for round seven of the GRAND-AM Rolex Sports Car Series presented by Crown Royal season following a race-ending fire with the No. 6 Ford-Riley in the Sahlen's Six Hours of the Glen. Michael Shank Racing driver Michael Valiante emerged without injury from the fire.

The team will continue to benefit from Ford power with the Dallara entry at Mid-Ohio, which will be campaigned alongside the sister No. 60 Crown Royal XR Ford-Riley of John Pew and Ozz Negri. Michael Shank Racing drivers Brian Frisselle and Michael Valiante both have Rolex Sports Car Series race-winning experience driving Dallara machinery.

"I want to thank Bill (Riley) for everything that he and (Riley Technologies) Mike Croake have done to support us--not just with this setback, but also going all the way back to our first race with Riley equipment in 2005," said team owner Mike Shank. "With the damage that the No. 6 Riley suffered and the short turn-around time that we have between these two races, we were forced to look for the best alternative to be ready to compete as a two-car team again at Mid-Ohio. This has been a tremendous set back for the team, but we are determined to fight back and be strong at our home race. The support that I've had from everyone in the GRAND-AM paddock has been astounding."

The team will take delivery of the Dallara on Tuesday (June 8) and immediately begin preparations for the EMCO Gears event.
